I think You can't compare. There are so many different styls. Old school skiing, Carving, Telemark, freesyle, backcountry, Hotdog, freeskiing,...
Snowboarding reaches the same, I do both, but I prefere skiing, when it's icey.
Mike, you're right, I also think snowboarding is easier, but now one realy leans to ski. You'll find very less good skiers in commercial areas!
